2039 IPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - RUTHLANDIAN UNION
SLIGO'S PRICE ONE-HITS WALESKA 1-0
The Price was right... the Sligo Rovers got back into the Ruthlandian Championship Series via a great performance by their ace Scotty Price, who fired a masterful one-hitter to nip Waleska 1-0 in game three... Tony Haskell almost matched him, giving up only one run on four hits... in a super pitching duel Price had eight Ks and three walks and Haskell chalked up eight strikeouts and two walks... Doug Haynes relieved Price in the last of the ninth after he walked a batter with two away... Haynes got the save by striking out the final batter.
The only run of the game came in the third inning... after two were out, RF Pat Foreman (.325) singled, stole second base and continued to third on a bad throw by catcher Rodney Hanson, then scored on Neil Mitchell's (.289) line single to center... Niles Gregory (.229) got the only hit off Price... he grounded a single to left in the second inning.
2029 IPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES -TYCOBBIAN UNION
ARLON RALLIES, TAKES HAWKS 7-5
It was looking bleak for Arlon at Derby Downs in game three of the Tycobbian League Championship Series... they were down 3-2 to Jeff Owens and the defending IPA champ North Hills when they suddenly slammed him for five runs... the rally put the Champs up 7-3 on the way to a 7-5 triumph and a two games to one lead in the series... fireballer Lanny Gray (2-0/3.93) survived 14 hits and five runs for the win... Gray walked two and struck out eight in eight innings... Peter Shannon registered the save with a runless ninth... Owens (1-2/6.65) lost it, allowing seven runs and 12 hits in seven innings.

Arlon topped North Hills 14-10 in hits... leading the Hawks were 2B Kiril Ivonoski (.429) with three hits, three runs and three RBIs, SS Tommy Vavas (.250) with three hits, a run and an RBI and RF Gerry Rice (.405) with three hits.
