Featherweight- Quarter Finals

(WBA) Yuriorkis Gamboa 37-8 (24) vs Jem Driscoll 43-1-1 (16)

Jim set the tone early with his rapier jab and deft defense, Gamboa bounced back with some hard right hands in round five and he was cleaning Driscoll's clock in the sixth until he walked into a counter hook that dropped the Cuban for a nine count late in the stanza. Gamboa shrugged it off and rocked Jem early in round seven with a right hand, several more rights had his left eye ballooning when Yuri ripped a hook to the body that folded up the Welshman like a tent and gave Gamboa another upset stoppage win when Jim couldn't beat the count.

(WBO) Eder Jofre 51-1 (32) vs Davey Moore 22-2-3 (15)

Jofre, determined to become the first multiple division winner, was razor sharp in the early going and he had Davey's left eye badly swollen by round six. In the eighth Moore staggered the Brazilian with a hook and he unloaded everything he had in a violent round in favor of the Springfield Rifle (2-30). From that point on they engaged in a tactical battle, but the superiority of Jofre was always evident and he win the UD. 147-137, 146-138 & 145-139

(IBF) Abe Attell 24-0-1 (12) vs Jorge Paez 33-11-1 (12)

After a slow opening round, Abe ended Paez' unlikely run early in round two when a searing counter hook dropped the Mexican like he had been shot and Jorge couldn't beat the count.

Sandy Saddler 61-3-1 (50) vs (IBO & WBC) Willie Pep 39-5-1 (16)

They swapped the first two rounds with Sandy dominating the opening round with nasty body shots and Pep taking the second with stern jabs and movement. In round three Saddler floored Willie with a nasty uppercut for an eight count and he hammered Pep over the final minute of the round with a barrage of blows to the body and head.

After a big fourth round from Saddler, Pep gained command and fired off brilliant combos as Sandy struggled to corner his rival. Saddler staggered Pep in the tenth with a hard right hand but Willie maintained control over the proceedings and down the stretch his movement and combinations were too much for Saddler and Pep took the well earned UD. 145-139, 144-139 & 142-141
