The trade from this week:

Subject: Michigan-Kentucky Deal: Knapp for Higgin

The Baseball News Network is reporting that Michigan and Kentucky have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 34-year-old left fielder Colin Knapp and 24-year-old minor league third baseman Tim Herhold to the Gray Squirrels with 33-year-old starting pitcher Rob Higgin and 18-year-old minor league third baseman Jonathan Weiss joining the Motors. Michigan's general manager would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league.

So far this year in 14 games Knapp is hitting .167 with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

Checking out his stats for the season, Higgin has notched 4 wins and no losses in 5 starts, 1.54 ERA and struck out 29 batters in 35 innings.

Jonathan Weiss was sent to Dev D (Rookie) Canton.
