I agree and it would be nice. Something that might allow the stats to be saved, although I'm not sure (haven't tried it yet). Would be to change the players position to pitcher at the end of the season, then perhaps you can fake the game into saving the stats thinking that the player was a pitcher, then after that you can switch the player back to their original position.
