They then get a 25 year old ace in the making in Jasper Myers from the Yankees for gold glove 3B Carlos Garcia as they hand their 3B job to 25 year old Juan Marquez (.292/.356/.431 in 75 games last year).
Staten Island has an unprecedented day in dollars and deals. Moving or gaining 8 players in 2 trades and 2 signings. Grabbing 2028 Koufax winner and 6 time all-star Mike Lewis and 4 time all star Juan Barrios with big free agent contracts and then dealing away one of the premier 25 and under arms in the game in Jasper Myers for gold glove 3B and leadoff hitter Carlos Garcia and an outstanding OF prospect in Alvin “Blade” Nelson, while letting go of OF Bobby Weber and cash to grab a very good 3B prospect in Donnelly.
