You should switch teams and this time build a franchise without exploiting the AI's stupidity......#1 NO waiver claims allowed (it is best just to turn off waivers altogether)......#2 NO draft pick trading (this is just stupid anyways)......#3 NO trades, except 1 for 1 (no cash allowed), and you need to make sure that the team you are trading with is not screwing themselves with the deal (i.e. trading you their only good second baseman for a good catcher, when they already have a good catcher. It is also a good policy to set trading to favor whatever the opposite of the deal you are wanting to do; i.e. if you are trading a veteran to obtain prospects, set trading to favor prospects. Trading a prospect for a veteran, set it to favor veterans....no need to set it to hard, by the way)......#4 ALL free agent offers and extensions must be evenly loaded (same salary every season and no incentives).....#5 extension offers for youngsters to buy out their arbitration and free agent years must be at least $2 million per season TIMES the length of the contract (assuming default financials; i.e a 4 year contract has to be at least $8 million a year, a 7 year contract has to be at least $14 million).....

Do these things and you will NOT win 10 championships in a row and average 120 wins a season......but you WILL enjoy the times you do manage to make it to the top.....
