Traveler99 - when is enough,enough? The CODING is different because thats the commands that make things happen, GUI coding is what makes them look/appear like they do! You freeform your comments depending on what point is made to you... In my olden days on a Trash80 you had to be able to code to PLAY the game!!! Yeah I'm that old...
Now I think everyone who has read this thread got the point of the complaints, however where's the CONSTRUCTIVE part of the criticism??? I read here and there is little else but bashing and a little peacemaking.
If they want to be taken seriously, and not a snotnose whiner try these simple steps...
1) Include your information with the bug - Believe it or not there are several different OS running around out there and almost nobody includes even if they are running a mac or PC. THERE is a ton of coding differences in OS as well as with video cards/makers. I grant you there are several obvious corrections to be made, but as someone who was there from the beginning of EHM (I did buy both versions and played the free one - EHM07 is still on my computer today) bad memories fade over time - trust me there were major glitches even in the EHM patches (they unintentionally wrecked "C" while fixing "A" not aware of "B" coding affecting the outcome...)
2) Where there is an obvious bug, correctly explain WHAT game you were playing (New,Historical,Fantasy etc.) and what did it do when it happened? Crash-To-Desktop? Ctrl-Alt-Delete? Its about 50% of the posts just crying "THIS GAME SUCKS!!!" without any info that makes me crazy... "Have a problem? you better have a solution to it" was what I grew up learning... obviously it stuck with me and wasn't covered in schools after I left...
3) Your pointing fingers at OOTP having bugs? it ALWAYS had bugs and both Markus and Andreas work incessantly on them. They have a good relationship with around 85% of the posters on the forum. It's the over a decade plus of us who supported those efforts and bought every version that has OOTP being recognized as
one of the premier sims of any type. That didn't happen overnight and you can look at my avatar and see I've been around here a while - and while don't post at every comment I see that aggravates me, this is ridiculousness - they didn't "acknowledge my complaint" Maybe because its on 35 other threads??? Are these people that narcisstic???
4) It hasn't been a month and you already have a major patch and an acknowledgement that they recognize the problems. You want to wait and let them get to it? The frickin hockey season hasn't even started yet! To all of you complaining - "Patience Grasshopper" it will come to you.
