My second point is with the progression of goalies. Goalies these days can have a great year or two but then can just fall off the map. Some of the best ones stick around but many others can't regain their game or confidence. Many say it's because the players find out their weaknesses and capitalize on them but in the end it's the goalies inability to adapt and gain confidence in his abilities. I would really love to see the struggles goalies go through being the last guardian and I just don't see it yet.
Up and down (and a lot of times out) careers are quite common for goalies. Consistency makes a goalie number one.
