It might be appropriate to hide some or all of that when playing in the stat-only mode or whatever it's called (where you don't see any of the ratings).
However, players do come out of high school and college with a reputation so the scout would still have some idea of a player's consistancy, durability, pitcher durability, etc. It doesn't seem unreasonble to have the scout share that information with the GM.
What I would prefer is to have some of these intangibles drift and develop over time. Perhaps they already do?
