I'm sure with the intention of not sounding totally generic... the scouting report blurbs can come across as being too tailored for young prospects.
But I don't think the meat and potatoes of the message is incorrect. I would guess that the player's current skill level, in the estimation of the scout, is that of a career minor leaguer. The fact that he had 215 hits in a season 15 years ago or whatever isn't relevant to how much he can help your club today.
