2038 IPA PRO CUP FINALS
HAWKS WIN AGAIN, TAKE GAME TWO 3-0
Good pitching was forecast for this year's Pro Cup Finals and that's exactly what we've gotten in the first two games... North Hills won again with a mound gem from Jeff Owens, who stumped Far Mountain 3-0 on a 5-hit shutout... that gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead in the series.
Owens (3-1/1.25) fired 5 strikeouts and walked one to fashion the victory... he got all the runs he needed with a fifth-inning homer by Kris Anastas and a 2-run clout by himself in the seventh.
Young 21-year-old lefty Karl Nordheim (3-1/2.06) also went the distance in defeat, giving up 3 runs and 7 hits... Anastas (.309) led the Hawks with 2 hits and scored twice... he now has driven 14 runs in the playoffs.
The series will now change venues, going from the Hawk's Nest in North Hills to the friendly confines of Sky High Stadium in Far Mountain... both are pitchers' ballpark with big dimensions.
