I do have this 3B waiting in the wings, but not likely for next season (young's contract will expire) I even signed Scott Rolen as a backup to Young (he does get a fair amount of time anyway due to better defense) It's just that I could either sign a stopgap (maybe resign rolen) and wait for Franco to develop, or make this trade and hope Rendon will be ready. If he isn't this deal does not make a lot of sense to me. I feel I would be giving up more than needed.
