Arizona got to Mike Bowman (7-7-4-4-2-10) for 4 in the 2nd but he held the fort for the offense to claw back on 12 hits and 7 Rattler walks. Jorge Viera was 3-6 with 2 doubles (18) 2 stolen bases (20) and Bob Brady was 2-5 with a double (10) triple (6) and 2 RBI's (45).

How about this. After 6 RJ's line was 6-0-1-1-4-8! His end game? 6-2-5-5-6-8. He imploded in the 7th of what was a another dominant start. 15 hits made possible by 6 players with 2 or more and every stareter had at least 1. Viera (18) Martin (39) Brady (47) and Stover (24) all had 2 RBI's, Viera doubling (19) and stealing his 21st.

Hall continues his monster year. Giving up 2 hits over 7, striking out 8 with 2 walks. Luke Stover goes 2-4 with 2 2-run homers and drives in 5 (29) and Bob Brady goes 3-5 with a double (12) triple (7) scores twice and drives in 2 (49). Jorge Viera goes 2-4 with a single, homer and a stolen base (22) and drives in 2 (20). Bob Harrell doubled (16) in a 2-4 2 RBI (24) day.
INJURY NEWS-Tulsa closer Andrew Tuttle will miss the remainder of the year after an MRI revealed bone chips. The 36 year old was 1-1 with 14 saves and a 2.57 ERA in 25 games. He's coming off a 34 Save 3.00 ERA year in 2028, and is in the 1st year of a 3 year 6.2M dollar free agent deal. 40 year old Amando Pratas will take the role in the near term, with the club looking hard at outside solutions.
In what could be coincidental news, or not, Jose Castro, coming off a 37 save season in 2028 for Columbus, is rumored to be wanting out of Dayton.....

Keith Hansen and Cisco Casas combined on 3.2 scoreless innings, punching out 7 in relief of Drake (5.1-7-2-1-2-5 on 103 pitches). James Welch homered in a 4-5 day.

Carlos Hernandez continued his up and down season going 7.1-7-1-1-0-7 on 92 pitches. It was his first walkless start of the season. It was actually the first time he'd walked less than 2 in a game all year. Jorge Viera doubled (21) in the game winner (21) in the 6th and stole his league leading 23rd base.
GOOD GAMES-Paul Green (SA) tossed a 2-hitter in a 3-0 win over West Michigan. Green moved to 3-5 4.67 in 13 starts. Rob Bright (CHI) tossed a 3-hitter in a 5-0 win over Corpus Christi. Bright struck out 12 and walked 1 in winning his 9th game of the year. He's 9-3 2.75 in 13 starts.
INJURY NEWS-Louis Ginger (WMI) will miss the next 4-5 weeks after fracturing his cheeckbone. The 25 year old was hitting .336-0-23 on the year. Earl Shaw (CC) will miss the next 6 weeks after straining a quad. He was hitting .283-15-36 on the year.
CONTRACT NEWS-3B Mark Warren (EP) signed a 4 year 46M dollar contract extension today. Warren is currently hitting .355-2-23 in 44 games after hitting .322/.357/.503 in 112 games last season.
The Warriors have announced the signing of 29 year old OF Nolan Schultz to a 1 year 2.32M dollar deal. The left fielder hit .259-41-109 last year but was having issues finding a job before lowering his price tag.

The box will show Mike Bowman (6.2-9-5-5-0-12) with the loss but this was all on the pen. He gave up 3 in the 3rd and pretty much held it down. Pedro Gonzalez game in and gave up 4 runs without recoring and out. Gustavo Jaquias was 4-4 with a double (14) homer, scored 3 and drove in 2 (28) and Nikolee Nesimi was 3-5 with 2 RBI's (40).
GREAT GAMES-Ricciardo Vasario (DAL) went 3-5 with 6 RBI's as he slammed 3 homers in an 11-6 win over New Hampshire. He's hitting .271-8-35 on the year.

Could be the costliest win of the year. RJ goes 7-4-1-1-1-10 and complains of some soreness in the shoulder. After the game the team doctor lets us know he's going to need arthroscopic shoulder surgery and could be down 5-6 months. Basically done for the year. 11-1 3.74 with 89 IP 50 H 111 K's and 44 walks. Huge blow. 26 year old David Rodgers will get the call. I've made an offer to 36 year old Matt Freestone in the meantime, to fill the gap in AAA.

Columbus and Baltimore make a move and both get better. Reyes will help a pen that's a bit thin (and 10th overall) and Madrigal is a nice young OF prospect but Columbus gets a VERY good player in Treffen. A 1B/LF who was twice a 2028 Rookie of the Month. Drafted by Dayton (out of Ohio State) in the Supplemental round of the 2025 draft (30th overall).
And in other injury news the Black Sox suffer a huge blow, losing Cano for what will likely be the rest of the year.
