Wow didn't expect this many responses before I could get back to this thread lol.
To answer a couple questions, contracts were same length and even same bonuses for all-star select and everything just less money was taken for the other team. I turned it into an experiment and restarted offering contracts to a few players and every one of them turned down my contracts (same as they signed before restart) asking for more money or more time then signed for similar years and less money. Happened enough to make it seem like it's part of making the game "tougher". I have had players sign extensions for cheaper though than they would want in FA
