The New York Mets made history today with their first pick in the amateur draft, making Vinegar Bend Mizell the first New York Met. The 31 year old was 11-9 with a 4.68 ERA last year.
We paired him with Frank Sullivan who was 9-12 with a 4.09 ERA last year for the Red Sox. 29 year old Jim Bunning was our third pick, while 29 year old Charlie Rabe was our fourth pick taking pitchers with our first four picks.
I'll spare you the rest of the details, because quite honestly we just aren't that good, but I looked for guys that could somewhat pitch and guys that could play defense.
