There are no "Modes" to OOTP. You can make your leagues as complex or simple as you like. OOTP covers all the bases.

Understood. I guess I was hoping to be able to import settings much like you can for each individual season. For example, I'm testing out 1916 with settings tweaked to account for more substitutions and pitching changes, and so far it hasn't given me the results I'd hoped for. I'll keep playing around with it, though. Worst case scenario is that I'll be forced to make line-up changes manually rather than have OOTP auto-sim everything.
