I hate to jump into what appears to be hornets' nest, but I've read this entire thread and I'm with fyre and bru. Nobody (yourself included) has mentioned anything that was broken in the previous version that was fixed with this patch. The list of items in the update release thread is about average compared to other update releases, and yes, some nice things have been improved. But there's nothing that was "broken" previously.
Like wolf, fyre and bru, I also have not installed this update because of some of the things in this patch, both intended changes and unintended. For one, I absolutely hate that the real life stats now appear on the main bio page in historical leagues. I'm also wary of the facegen problems, and I have a Mac and there are a lot of Mac users reporting issues. If/when those things are changed/fixed, I'll update. And when I do that, I'll get all the fixes to the "broken" things you're mysteriously alluding to.
Until then, I'm ecstatic about how my game is playing right now. If the things I'm concerned about aren't addressed, I'll play 14 as it is on my Mac right now until next spring when 15 is released, and I'll have a jolly 'ol time doing it.
