If you are even considering relocating the Yankees, you're insane. Mets for sure on that one, even though that's also a very stalwart fanbase.

You could make a relocation case for the Cubs based on their history of underachieving, but that's a team with some serious history and tradition (I mean, Wrigley Field, come on). Again, if you're determined to move one, it should be the White Sox.

A simple solution for new cities would be Montreal. Bring back the Expos, or change the name to whatever you see fit. The Carolinas might also be due for a team. Or Nashville. That would be the Mets relocation, so that the East stays intact.

As for the White Sox, I would suggest relocating them to the west coast. Portland or Vancouver are both markets that could use a baseball team. If you do that, you can move Texas or Houston to the AL Central to keep the divisions aligned.

Then, for expansion, pick two of the cities that you didn't use (Vancouver/Portland, and Montreal/Charlotte/Nashville). You can't have even divisions with 16 teams, though - one's going to have an extra.
