Player ratings not improving?
I played out 2013 with the Red Sox. Due to Mike Napolis season being cut short in May via concussion, I was forced to use Mike Carp (rating 21) at first. He ended up hitting 30 home runs, albeit a .252 average. I was expecting his rating to improve based in part on his solid season, but at the start of 2014 he is still a 21. same happened to Daniel Nava (also a 21) who posted a .770 OPS over 450 at bats but didn't improve rating wise.
What does this have to do with most likely? Age? And how does this predict their performances next year? Will they perform at 2013 levels this next season or were they just "lucky"?
