I actually don't mind a little random flavor. But when the story doesn't make sense in the context of what is going on - that's where I bristle.

Again, if the game wants to randomly end the careers of one of my players, I'm fine with it, as long as the same happens to every team. But just have the curtain match the drapes, so to speak.

Let him get hit by a meteor before he decides that he doesn't fit into my plans. In real life, the manager or GM would have called him into the office weeks before and told him he was penciled in as the opening day starter.

Since the storyline feature is completely new to me (I'm a convert from 6.5) what else can I expect to see?

I did see one news blurb about Albert Pujols calling a team meeting for the Angels when they weren't playing well last season. I liked seeing that. But I can't recall any other specific "stories" from my first season.

edit: Oh - and the league's rules were changed after the first season, saying that the number of arbitration years had been voted to change. I went in and changed it back.
