I also looked through a few of the topics and not much said about potentials that I saw though I didn't go through them all to be honest with you. I get the scouting reports and the stats idea but how do you determine the potentials of players? Just go by a stat guy and he is under 25 and has 2 good seasons in AAA, he should be ok and try it out?
I just find that the scouting that the game gives you is limited for future. All the guys I looked at, it all talked about them hitting in the majors right now but guys that are in AA and A ball, I don't really need to know what they can do in the majors right now, I need to know what they can do at their level and what their future might hold. Is that something I just have to try and work with or do the Stats only guys use potentials. 1-5, 20-80 or something? stars even?

I don't use potential ratings. I evaluate my prospects, by performance, how my scout ranks them on the player development page, and my minor league managers batting orders, depth charts, pitching rotations, and bullpen set up.
