I've heard it's related to age, I had a guy who was a 6/10 at 3B, but was 37y/o. This was an online league and he went from 6/10 to not having a rating at 3B despite playing there for 2 months straight.
He still has the ratings to be a decent 3B, so I'm likely just going to play him there.
Is Mantle 'old' when this happened?
