'It is with great pleasure that the New York Yankees announce the appointment of their new General Manager. With immediate effect Stuart Dubb, Assistant GM for the last three years, will assume total control of the baseball operations of the Yankees. Owners, Hank & Hal Steinbrenner along with President Randy Levine met with Stuart this morning to confirm the appointment and they all offer Stuart their congratulations and total support. A press conference will be arranged for later this afternoon'
