lots of threads like these out there, but I'll tell you what I do, and I'm sure there are a few others that will go along with some of it.

I play fictional too, but I do use the real MLB setup i.e. teams, affiliates, etc.
But I do play the stats only game. No ratings, just stats and scouting reports. That's plenty of challenge for me, and other, better, more veteran players here.

If you want ideas on stats only, just do a thread search. Great ideas in those from great players of this game.
