Good morning - and I'm back from a sorely-needed vacation. Looks like that's when the Tigers choose to go on a major tear!
Maybe I should go away more often, ha.
I'll restart the recaps beginning with today's game against the Tribe.
Let's see what happened...
1. Tigers on a 5-game winning streak, sitting at 48-38, 1st in the division by 3.5 games. They've evened up their road record to 22-22, thanks to this trip.
2. There's been two roster changes:
Matt Tuiasosopo has come off the DL, and poor Avisail Garcia had to take the escalator down to Toledo yet again. Wonder if he has revolving door syndrome yet?
Anibal Sanchez came off the DL, punting Jose Alvarez back to Toledo - and it looks like he pitched quite well in his return.

3. Buncha Tigers made the All-Star roster:

P Justin Verlander (Leyland's choice)
3B Miguel Cabrera (fan vote, starter; 1st time selected as a starter due to other vote-winning guys at his 1B/3B position in previous years.)
1B Prince Fielder (player vote)
RF Torii Hunter (player vote)
Ss Jhonny Peralta (player vote)
There will be a "Final Man" vote, in which 1 of 5 selected players will get a shot at making the roster. Joaquin Benoit is in that group.
