RaLPH bRANCA : yOUNGEST gUY ON wIKIPEDIA'S OLDEST LIVING MAJOR LEAGUERS LIST
Ralph Branca - born Jan. 6, 1926 (age: about 87 years, 6 months) - ranked #118 (and last) on Wikipedia's Oldest Living Players List. Threw the famous pitch that launched "The Shot Heard Round The World" in October 1951. Three-time N.L. all-star (1947-1949).
There's Plenty of Photographic record of him from his 11 seasons with the Brooklyn Dodgers (1944-1953 & 1956).
Does anyone have photos of him from his brief stops with the Detroit Tigers (1953-1954) and the New York Yankees (1954)?
Even rarer would be a photo of him from 1955 when he went to Spring Training with the New York Giants. He didn't make the team and spent the entire 1955 season with one of the Giants' high minors affiliates. A photo of Branca in a Giants uniform or in the uniform of their minor league team that Branca pitched for in "55 would be a collector's delight!
P.S. The NY Giants' minor league team that Branca played for in 1955 was the Minneapolis Millers. (The same team Willie Mays was called up from to make his major leagues debut in late May 1951).
