It's fine to keep both of those but it would be nice if the "sabermetric" were just renamed "favor platoon splits." Then you could have an *actual* sabermetric option- which would be putting high OBP 1st, best overall hitters 2nd and 4th, next best 3rd and 5th, then in descending order of quality, with the 9th batter a bit better than the 8th. And disregarding whether or not you've got speedy guys at the top of the lineup. This is how I like to put together my lineups- but I always feel like it's a bit of an exploit when I do because none of the AI teams do this. Just a few runs a year, I know, but it would level the field a bit.
I'd also like to have to have a toggle box that makes the AI only sit their starters when they're tired. As in, not use the "every 5th game" and "every 7th game" stuff. While it's definitely more realistic, it's also sub-optimal for the AI to start lesser players.

I agree. I just looked at "Lineup Selection" in the OOTP manual. You only have the choice between traditional and sabermetric. Sabermetric in this case means using L/R split data to make decisions. I would like to see an option for using the "The Book" approach to optimizing lineups. I would also like to have the ability to apply this new option to at least the sub league level. Thus moving lineup selection from AI Options to League Rules - like the DH rule.
