I'm thinking you just want to add the players and the easiest way to do that is to open the master and do your sorting. Make sure all the players you want to keep have a bbref id in the bbrefid column (they should).
Delete all columns except the year and bbrefid columns.
Delete all rows you don't want. Save it as a .csv and rename the extension to .txt
Your txt file should look like this (bbrefid, year):
aardsda01,2009
aaronha01,1959
abreubo01,2000
adamsba01,1920
adamsmi02,2011
adamste01,2003
Copy the .txt file to your ootp stats folder or folder of your choice.
Now do a historical import and use the .txt file. That'll import all your players.
That's the easiest way to do it providing it's what you want to do.
If your version of excel can't handle all the rows in the master.csv your using, then get Apache Open Office. It's free, works perfectly, and will handle more than you'll ever need.

Hey Bigrod! Thanks for helping me out good friend. It's very much appreciated!
Okay, just in case anyone may ant a Quick Start of my game, here's what it consists of:
- Fictional game with 40 of the MLB teams to ever exist
- Real players who began their careers in 1930 all the way through 2013
- Since this consists of real players, only fictional coaches and scouts can be used
- Season begins in April of 2013
- Minors league teams are used...but...only AAA, AA and A are used
- Rosters in season will be 30 with a 45-Man roster. September roster expansion will be 45
- I will include the correct number of college and high school feeder leagues
Now to answer your questions Bigrod (my answers are in bold):
Q. Are your teams and structure already setup?
A. Yes, already set up.
Q. Are their rosters already filled or empty?
A. Empty.
Q. Do you need to add todays players and the previous years players as well or just the ones from previous years?
A. As I described above, I would really like for this game to be a combination of today's players and previous years players.
Q. Are you trying to create an entirely new master.csv or just import players to your game?
A. Well, I'm thinking with having such a very large number of players to have in the inaugural draft pool that it would very likely be best if I created an entirely new master.csv file.
By the way, the program I'll be using to make the csv file will be Microsoft WordPerfect Office 12. It has an-add-on called Quattro Pro which functions just like Excel. Again, thanks for the help. I'll post back with the results.
