i would test 1 player in a copied version of the db
delete all his years in pitching, hitting, fielding but 1
change the year to a year he did not really play
see if the year, age and stats you want come through on the import
now you could do the same for all the players you want, picking any year as the base 1 year for that player, or maybe just change the key year you want for that players
start a historical for taht new devised year
all the players you have remoddled will come in
now take the ml quickstart, save it as a template, then call in the template- (or make this new game the template and call it into the qs) and voilla you have the retired players you want, the current players and all current minor leaguers
but check with 1 player first for it might do odd things changing dates in the db, before putting any more time into it
