Think i figured it out. I dont want to use expansion draft cause it might take too long and i dont want to get rookies and vets mixed up. I dont want players who played the next year for a different team going to an expansion team. So i deceided unless they were traded during the year all other player releases would take place after the season. I forgot i just have to go to the folded team's roster. The game doesnt release them to free agency so they are still on the folded team's roster which in this case is a good thing. Retired players are no problem.
