1982 World Series Injury
Reds Lose Parrish For Series
Cincinnati got bad news after the Game 2 loss when they heard they would lose shortstop Larry Parrish for the rest of the series. Parrish separated his shoulder on a collision at second base when trying to turn a double play. Cincinnati will have to make do without his .315 average, 25 HR's, and 66 RBI's. Parrish will be replaced by Lenny Randle (.231, 1 HR, 12 RBI's, 121 AB's). Randle did manage a rbi triple in Game 2 in place of Parrish. The Reds will hope he provide a strong bat for the remainder of the series.
