• Rookie League Owensboro was eliminated in the first round of their playoffs.
• Lexington (AAA) and Dayton (AA) qualified for post-season play by winning their divisions. Evansville (A) finished third, four games out.
• I set all of my depth charts to rest the starter only if tired. It’s time to get serious.
• Hector Castro has out-played Ferguson and will platoon with Diaz in LF for the duration of the season. Morrison will play second base over rookie Morales.

• 09/14: LOU 7, HOU 2 – Diaz 2-4, HR, 3 RBI; 56 min. rain delay in the 4th inning
• Dayton opened their playoff series with a shutout by Dean Daniels, winning 3-0.
• 09/15: LOU 4, HOU 3 – Martinez walk-off 3-run HR for a dramatic comeback win
• Vargas was 4-5. McConnell and Castro had 2 hits each. Nice start by Bowles.
• We head to Dallas (56-91) trailing Milwaukee by 1.5 games and tied with Los Angeles for the wild card spot.
• 09/16: DAL 5, LOU 0 – Rollins (DAL) 7 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 0 BB, 2 K, W (12-5, 3.11)
• Jose Diaz was injured on a defensive play and left the game. Diagnosis pending.

• 09/18: DAL 9, LOU 6 – sweep by the woeful Rattlers drops us to 3rd place.
• Jose Diaz is diagnosed with a torn labrum. He is out until next April.
