New York Yankees - The Yankees finished 67-55 last season, and flopped down the stretch. They were a team that drafted all prospects in the inaugural draft (2012) and has seen them finish 1st or 2nd in the division in each of the last three years. They are a very good team with some very good young talent. The challenge here will be to manage their contracts as their young players hit their prime earning years. They will have almost 30 million in cap space for next year though, if you want to add those 1-2 pieces to put this team over the top.
Colorado Mountaineers - Colorado owns the best all-time record in the UBL. They have missed the playoffs for the first time in the leagues existence this season though, but still finished 65-57. They have a young pitcher in Cam Ankeny who's just coming into his prime. They also have two of the best hitters in the league in RF Mack Saunders and 1B Owen Harrison. They have the 6th rated farm system (of 14). They will be right up against the cap though. The right owner will be able to make this team competitive for the foreseeable future.
Birmingham Vulcans - They finished 43-79 in their inaugural season. They were an expansion team last year. They will pick 3rd in the 2018 draft. They are in a stadium that features left handed power and finished 4th in homers last season. They have one of the brightest young prospects in the game, who was the #2 overall pick last year (Jax Moultrie) They will be a challenge, but like all other OOTP leagues, they can get it going with the right owner. This league is uncapped, so the sky is the limit.
Going into our sixth season, we are looking for guys who want to be around for a while. We have a very good group of owners, and as far as I am concerned, we do a very good job with this league. We aren't looking for any one and dones here.
