Stan Hall trailed 3-2 before another mid game rally as the offense grabbed the lead for good with a 5 run 6th. Carlos Gomez was 2-4 with 2 homers 2 runs and 2 RBI's (2) and Angel Vargas was 2-4 with a home run and 2 RBI's (2). Ash Carter strained his groin and will be DtD for the next week or so.

The downside of a great pen and average offense is extra inning games. John Drake went 6-6-1-1-0-8 and John Durham gave up 2 (1 earned) and Casas came in to save it. Paul Reeves hit a solo shot in the 8th, and a 2 run shot in the 9th to tie it (Casas went 2.1 IP and struck out all 7 of his outs but surrendered the game tying 2 run homer). Marc Sheppard came in and threw 61 pitches over 4 scoreless innings, walking 2 and punching out 4 with 3 hits. Wes Webb hit a walk off homer in the bottom of the 15th, his 3rd hit of the day. Ibarbia was 3-7 with a double (3) and 2 RBI's (18) and Matt Edwards was 3-6 with his 5th homer, driving in a run (16). Rattler Ben Hall went 8-13-5-4-2-1 in a 134 pitch no-decision.

Major injury news out of Philly. Bermudez is lost for the year with a torn ACL. 26 year old Jonathan Waycott will man RF for now but this is a huge blow for them.
Benton Crowder won the 2025 All Star Game MVP, and it seems like he's been on the DL every since. The Yanks are just 2 back in the Empire.
In Corpus Christi's run to the title in 2021 Nate Sipes hit just .180 in 23 games, but his 6 home runs were a huge reason why they won. He's just back from a labrum injury and that's the major concern with him, his durability. When he's on the field he's real good.
The Ellis injury will hurt the IF defense big time. Not sure why but they called up 1B Antonio Salas to take Ellis' roster spot.
