That's what I use, at least in my NCAA mod. And yeah it does create more granularity. It's a much better representation of the real ratings as seen in the editor. Not perfect, by any means, but better.
However it doesn't really help with the capsule format overall/potential ratings. They're still only 20-80 or 1-5 stars and whatever you set the ratings scale to, they still don't really show any separation.
