Rubio is solid in a 7-6-1-1-4-9 outing and the offense gets another early crooked number, scoring 4 times in the 3rd. McBryde with a 3-5 day while Daniel Collins went 1-4 stole a base (12) and scored 3 times. Manuel Rodriguez was 2-2 scoring twice and driving in 2 (38) while Bill Harrell went 2-6 doubling twice (34) and driving in 5 (78). Ricardo Torres had another big day, going 3-5 with a 2B (4).

MILESTONE-Another member of the 2000 hit club today, and another Chicago Iron Pig! Luis Chavez has probably been the IBL's 2nd best player in it's 13 year history behind Curt Whimster. He becomes the youngest player ever to 2000 hits by almost 2 years.

Colin Durham labored through 126 pitches but managed to close out the IBL's 2nd best team in a 9-7-1-1-1-9 effort. Mauro Rodriguez drove in 3 (41) and Javier Salgado went 3-4 with 2 doubles (4) and scored twice.

Jesus Solis got batted around in a 3 run 1st but managed to limit the damage going 6-6-4-3-2-5 and the offense plugged away for 8 against all-star Bryant Thomas (there's that name again) as he went 8-5-3-3-4-8 with Dirk McBryde's 8th inning solo shot tying the game. Michael Wheeler made a very rare 3 inning appearance before John Durham yielded a homer to Jack McPhee (the first hitter he faced) in the 12th. Frank Morgan went 2-5 with a double (24) and 3 RBI's (85) in the win.

CHICAGO NEWS-David Ellis (news below) is out at least the next 4 weeks and Jeffrey Hudson was hurt in yesterdays game as well, news pending.

A 5 run 5th broke open a 2-1 game and Jose Santos had another big game, going 7-4-1-1-4-6 to beat all star Cordell Bond (17-7 3.09) and take 2 of 3 from the Grizzlies. Mauro Rodriguez went 2-5 and drove in 2 (44) while fill in Ricardo Torres continued to make the most of his playing time, going 2-4 with his 1st homer of the season, driving in 2 (4).

ROSTER NEWS-Wes Webb has agreed to a 1-year deal. Torres will be sent back to Eagan, but not before opening some eyes.

Bob Harrell goes 3-4 and scores twice while Enrique Garcia goes 3-4 with 3 RBI's (65). Daniel Collins goes 2-2 and is injured in a base running collision in the 2nd. He ends up tearing a thumb ligament and will be out at least a month.
