The good dead ball era batters won't strike out and they usually have excellent speed and base stealing ability. I love them. Good dead ball era pitchers won't strike out a lot of batters but they usually won't walk any either, relatively speaking. They gobble up innings and save the bullpen

My custom leagues have players from every era. The fun is having Babe Ruth hitting ahead of Frank Thomas and the both of them facing Justin Verlander.
