Along that line, hell, I would want a guy with a 33-game hitting streak in the lineup!
That said, I would think that a "player's" manager would not pinch-hit the guy unless the guy were an old-school player and agreed he needed a day off and made it clear he didn't care about the streak if his services were needed as a PH.
Different sport and different scenario, but in pro hoops earlier this season, Doc Rivers re-inserted Rajon Rondo late into a blowout just so Rondo could get an assist or two to keep his 10+ streak alive.
