Just torture yourself and see if you have the patience and resolve to start in class A ball as a manager. You'll have to deal with constant roster moves that are outside your control, but it might give you a very different OOTP experience.
And, if you work your way up to the big leagues, then by that time your world will be quite different from 2013 MLB, and your choice will be based on which jobs are available and who offers you a job (assuming that you're not in commissioner mode).
If you want a hint for starting in A ball, I'd recommend the California League. Maybe Lancaster, Inland Empire, or High Desert.
