Other things you can do as well. If you want to trade for a prospect who was just drafted (you usually can't for a year), you can switch to the other team, release him, switch back, and pick him up. I remember being the Astros and wanting to trade for P. Fielder, but he cost too much, so I traded players of equal value of Fielder to Detroit, switched to Detroit, released him, switched back, and picked him up for 8 mil. Haven't done this since. Too cheap... ;-)
