That is a small piece of the picture, giving me only one or two at most outing if they are a regular. If the pitcher goes bad on me after say 100 pitches, I cannot get that from just the last time out, too many other factors. I need several outings of info to get the trends.

That information is just not handy, ESPECIALLY if I want to do this for my entire staff.

And yes, that info is in the game log, but it means I have to comb through the game log data for every pitcher on staff (including minors if I have to call someone up) for every game, for about a month, to get useful info. That is the sort of stuff computers do best... its sort of like saying a batters average doesnt need to be presented as a stat because it is in the game log.

Its also one more factor I need to know about my opponent. If the opposing pitcher is nearing the limit of his arm, it may effect when and who I put in to pinch hit.
