I'd like to see some thought given to team-level events. These would be, for example, a fire or structural accident at a park causing its closure for a number of games, forcing the club to play the games on the road instead of at home (this is especially significant for the late 19th and early 20th century when parks burned down in part or in whole with alarming regularity). There can also be some draft-related events, such as a club's draft pick being voided due to a rule violation, meaning the player becomes a free agent and all teams can then bid on him.
