Injury Reports

- After a miserable second chance with South Bend, former Closer of the Year Award winner Russell Sheppard will be sidelined for the remainder of the season with a strained forearm.

- 1984 All Star nominee Ron Gordan (South Bend) was also injured for the season with a strained hamstring. If he makes a speedy recovery, he could possibly join the team for the playoffs -- if they can overcome Rochester in the final two weeks.

News and Notes:

- Nick Barnstaple (DUL) will return from an injury endured in spring training, and will finally see action for the first time this season.

- Superstar Bobby Bergeron of Cedar Rapids remains unsigned, could be the most pursued free agent in years.

- Andrew Rodgers of Cedar Rapids leads the entire HBL in IBB with seventeen.

- Of the four teams pursuing a postseason birth, none of them have reached the championship before.
