Several teams (including Louisville) had contacted him about pitching this year, but recovery from a torn rotator cuff suffered last summer was not going well. Westaway has a career 277-123 record with a 2.83 ERA and 2,541 strikeouts. Westaway won the Outstanding Pitcher Award twice (2005 & 2011) and he made the all-star team 10 times. His 277 wins are third all-time. His post-season record is 29-15 with a 2.84 ERA.
