I find that stats-only produces the most realistic AI behaviour at the MLB level, but it certainly wouldn't at the minor league level. In real life, no team judges their minor league prospects solely by statistics. If they did, someone like Ben Rowen with the Rangers would be considered a top prospect, what with his 52/3 K/BB ratio in 57 IP last year. In reality he's a trick submarine pitcher with a 72 mph fastball. And if he was a pitcher in OOTP, you'd know he wasn't a prospect, because, well, his velocity would be 72 mph. But if the AI was just using stats, the AI wouldn't know that, and you'd be able to easily outsmart the AI. That was my point.
And I'm not sure what your "try it!" comment is supposed to mean; you aren't the only person who plays stats-only.

It meant it's clear that you don't. And I think that we disagree about almost everything.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.
Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
