Nope. Its not based on final standings? Thats what I'm referring too. example:
Conference A
14. NY Islanders 59 pts
15. Toronto 50 pts
Conference B
13. Minnesota 52 pts
14. St. Louis 48 pts
15. Detroit 39 pts
Minnesota finishes with less pts than NY Islanders but doesn't get demoted because of finishing in 13 place.
The EPL relegates its bottom 4 teams and promotes the top 4 from the Championship League.
