This was a fast paced battle that saw both men have their moments even if there was nothing dramatic. McGowan's jab was the most prevalent punch in the fight and he took the belt and advanced by UD. 117-112, 116-113 & 115-114
Kamara Diop 11-8-1 (2) vs Hi-Sup Shin 13-6-1 (6)
Shin rocked Diop early and often with counter hooks during a dominant opening stanza. Kamara rebounded in round two with a sustained body attack until Hi-Sup connected with a brutal hook that turned out Diop's lights at the end of the frame.
Tanny Campo 23-13-4 (4) vs Jaimie Rios 22-16-2 (3)
Campo shrugged off a sloe start and dominated the second half of the fight with clean combinations and solid defense to take the UD. 97-93 x2 & 96-94
Charlie Magri 12-7-1 (6) vs Pone Kingpetch 15-5 (6)
After Pone boxed circles around the Brit in the opening round, Magri broke his nose with a right hand in round two. That was a repeated pattern with Kingpetch boxing well for large stretches and Charlie's advantage in power showing up in short, decisive bursts. Early in round seven a brutal clash of heads opened an uncontrollable cut over Magri's left eye and they went to the cards. Magri took the TUD, 59-55 x2 & 58-56
Susumu Hanagata 14-6 (4) vs Jimmy Warnock 8-12
The underdog, Warnock, shuffled through the speedy combos of his Japanese rival and he nearly finished Hanagata in the sixth with a murderous onslaught after a severe right hand, but in the end he couldn't overcome Susumu's superior skills and he dropped the UD. 97-94 x3
Rinty Monaghan 12-7-1 (2) vs Fritz Chervet 10-8-2
Rinty closed a tight fight after six rounds with clean combos in the final four rounds and he took the UD, 97-93 x2 & 96-94
