Dai Dower 8-11-1 (2) vs Rolondo Bohol 21-14-5 (2)
Bohol struggled through a badly swollen right eye to out-work Dower in the majority of the rounds to take the MD, 97-94, 96-94 & 95-95
Pitchit Siriwat 27-12-3 (9) vs Oscar Arciniega 22-15-3 (6)
This was a back and forth fight that saw both men have their moments. Siriwat staggered the Mexican in round four with a series of hard combos and Oscar returned the favor in round seven when he nearly dropped Pitchit with an uppercut and raked him over the coals in the final minute. The judges were split, but Arciniega advanced. 96-94 x2 & 95-97
Peter Kane 13-5-2 (8) vs Chokchai Chockvivat 10-8-2 (4)
Kane's powerful right hand put an end to a long run of wins by lower seeds. Chockvivat stood up to everything Kane delivered but he was on the wrong side of a lopsided UD. 100-90 & 98-92 x2
Jackie Brown (England) 23-16-1 (10) vs Isidro Garcia 8-9-3 (1)
Brown suffered a bad cut over his right eye in the first thirty seconds of the fight. Jackie rebounded in the second and opened an even worse cut over Garcia's right eye with a series of jabs and hooks. While the Englishman's cut closed, the Mexicans got worse and the bout was stopped in round three due to the uncontrollable flow of blood.
Alberto Jimenez 9-8-3 (2) vs Benny Marks 10-7-3 (2)
After a tight opening round, Jimenez rocked Marks early in the second with a wicked hook and he battered Benny until the referee was forced to rescue the floundering American as he was pummeled in the corner.
Ignacio Espinal 11-6-3 (6) vs Bi-Won Chung 9-11 (1)
Espinal opened a bad cut over Chung's right eye in the opening round and he dropped him twice in the second with vicious uppercuts. Chung showed heart, but he was dominated throughout until the bout was stopped in round seven due to the cut on Chung's eye.
