Flyweight First Round

Dadoy Andujar 8-11-1 (2) vs Speedy Akira 13-7 (4)

Akira dominated the first three rounds with swift movement and combination punching. Dadoy floored him in the fourth with a hook to turn the tide but Akira went right back to work and closed Andujar's right eye on the way to the UD. 98-91, 97-92 & 96-93

Koki Kobayashi 15-3-2 (3) vs Prudencio Cardona 11-9 (6)

They battled back and forth in this one, almost alternating rounds the whole way. Cardona buckled Koji with a right hand in the third and Kobayashi swelled up the Colombians right eye and split open his forehead with powerful hooks. the judges saw the same back and forth fight and all had it 95-95

Joe Symonds 9-9-2 (2) vs Fermin Gomez 12-8 (5)

Though Symonds is the higher seed, he still entered as an underdog but that didn't deter him from s fast start and he busted open the Mexican's nose in round two and hammered him with lefts and rights during a dominant round three. Gomez pulled it together in the middle rounds with hard hooks to the body and head. Joe staggered him with a cross in the tenth round but he was unable to capitalize and Gomez took the tough UD. 97-94, 97-95 & 96-95

Netrnoi Sor Vorasingh 23-17-1 (3) vs Jackie Brown(Scotland) 8-10-2 (2)

They traded furiously in the first minute of the fight with both men landing heavily, Brown floored Netrnoi with an overhand right for a count six and controlled the final minute. Early in round a two a wicked hook opened a nasty gash over Vorasingh's right eye and the fight was promptly stopped.

Suzuki Cabato 10-8-2 (3) vs Carlos Salazar 20-17-3 (4)

This wasn't a thriller with the exception of the ninth round where they traded heavily and Cabato opened a cut over Salazar's left eye early in the round before Carlos returned the favor by busting open Cabato's nose late in the round. They were both bleeding when Salazar continued the run of lower seeds winning with a MD. 98-92, 97-93 & 95-95

Tae-Shik Kim 13-7 (8) vs Aristide Pozzali 11-8-1 (3)

Pozzali used the South Koreans aggression against him as he peppered him with clean jabs and right hands that nearly closed Kim's left eye. By the ninth Kim was way behind and tiring, Aristide put on an all out onslaught that culminated with a booming right hand putting Kim down and out just before the bell.
