I guess I have never gotten on the hate train. He gave New York six excellent years and 1 good year and two slightly above average years.

It is not exactly his fault that New York gave him a terrible contract and is still owed five years of contract money. He is 37 and is declining pretty much like his PECOTA projection says he would.

For all the crap he has taken from New York fans I would stick around for the next five years out of pure spite and collect the $114m that I am owed.
It does look like the Yankees will at least get out of paying him $30m for HR bonuses.
